ESTES, Mr. Robert Morris, age 80; a resident of Wetumpka, Alabama died on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at his residence. Morris is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Ennis Estes. He is also survived by two daughters, Ardelia Williams and her husband, Frank of Acworth, Georgia and Cheryl Laster and her husband, Billy of Flint, Michigan, four grandchildren, Cynthia Mills Helgeson, Jameson Mills, Kevin Williams, and Kelly Laster, and great-grandson, Joshua Helgeson. He is also survived by his twin sister, Doris Morgan and her husband, James of Fultondale, AL. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Carrie Thrash Estes, six brothers, S.C., Vince, Jim, Paul, Jesse, and Clayton; five sisters, Mildred Estes, Flossie Smith, Inez Vaughn, Jadie Skinner, and Katie Ruth Estes; and by a daughter, Sylvia Doris Estes, and a great-grandson, Bailen Helgeson. Morris was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday at Mt. Hebron West Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Hebron West Baptist Church with Pastor Steve King and Chaplain Burton Herring officiating. A private family graveside service will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Tallassee, AL with Ellison Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing. Pallbearers will be Dan Thomas, Wayne Teal, James Dozier, Ellis Logan, Jimmy Mercer, and Russell Ledlow. Honorary pallbearers will be Ferrell Armstrong, Leigh Armstrong, and Douglas Sanders. The family would like to thank Helping Heart Hospice, Doris Gidley, Tameka Roper, and Sherri Rossi. The family also gratefully appreciates all the love and kindness from his friends and church family at Mt. Hebron West Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Helping Hearts Hospice Foundation, 225 Hill Street, Wetumpka, AL 36092.
