She later became a naturalized citizen of the United States, and resided in Wetumpka for approximately 15 years, and then Montgomery for the rest of her life. She became a busy mother of three daughters, always involved in the communities in which she lived. She later achieved success in the retail business working with Parisian and Gayfers department stores in Montgomery, earning top sales awards with these two companies.
