BURNS, Rev. Howard F. Scotty, age 84; a resident of Eclectic, Alabama died Thursday, May 17, 2007. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 20, 2007 at 3:00 PM at Santuck Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Barber, Rev. Morgan Bailey, and Rev. L.C. Campbell officiating. A private interment service will follow in Titus Baptist Church Cemetery with Ellison Funeral Home of Wetumpka, AL. Bro. Scotty is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gladys C. Burns; six children, Michael H. (Betsy) Burns, James R. (Susan) Burns, Glynis Burns, Jeffrey P. (Sybil) Burns, Betsy Susan Burns, and Jonathan C. Burns; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Helfrich and Joan Sell. Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Bro. Scotty attended Santuck Baptist Church until called out of retirement to pastor Titus Baptist Church. He was a former pastor of Nettles Islands Church, Stuart, FL and served as pastor of numerous other churches in his over sixty-four years of ministry in serving the Lord. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 19, 2007 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Santuck Baptist Church. Rev. Burns will lie in state one hour prior to services on Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request memorial contributions be made to Titus Baptist Church Building Fund, C/O Albert I. Riddle, 6930 Titus Road, Titus, AL 36080 or to Gideons International, 171 River Birch Circle, Wetumpka, AL 36093.
