GILLILAND, Mrs. Bessie Mae Tucker, age 86, a resident of Crowne Nursing Home died Monday, July 9, 2007 at Jackson Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Gaines officiating. Interment will follow the service in Central Baptist Church Cemetery with Ellison Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing. Mrs. Gilliland was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Broughton Gilliland, two sisters, Lena Bush and Mary Nell Thompson, and her three brothers, T.J. Hicks, L.G. Hicks, and Robert Warren Hicks. She is survived by four sons, Henry D. (Brenda) Gilliland, Leo (Renee) Gilliland, David M. (Debbie) Gilliland, and Richard J. Gilliland; eight grandchildren, David Gilliland, Jr., Jennifer (Casey) Rutland, Kelly Gilliland, Amy Gilliland, Hollie (Christopher) Denison, Leo Gilliland, Jr., Josh Gilliland, and Jacob Gilliland; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Blaine Denison and Caden Lawrence Rutland. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Inez (Sammy) Cooper, Adie (Shirley) Hicks, Jr., Girdner (Jean) Hicks, Marvin Hicks, and Ruby Whatley; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Gilliland, Jr., Leo Gilliland, Jr., Chris Denison, Casey Rutland, Randy Holman, and George Wade Wilson. Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Davis. Mrs. Gilliand was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church. The family appreciates the love and care received from Crowne Nursing Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Ellison Funeral Home.
