MULDER, Mr. Arthur Watson, age 70, a resident of the Redland community died unexpectedly at his home Wednesday, March 21, 2007. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 2:00 PM in Carter Hall at Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Craig Carter, Rev. Ronnie Bearden, and Rev. Mark Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Pine View Memorial Gardens with Ellison Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing. Mr. Mulder is survived by his brother, Wayne (Jean) Mulder of Bessemer, AL; sister, Miriam (Rev. John) Vickers of Titus, AL; two nephews, Stephen L. Mulder and J. Michael Vickers; four nieces, Donnis Mulder Chiarella, Marie V. Colmer, Wanda V. Brantley, and Cheryl V. Teel; four great-nieces, Iris (Glenn) V. Hornbuckle, Ruth Vickers, Crystal Teel, and Lydia Teel; five great-nephews, Nathan Brantley, Micah Brantley, Adam Brantley, Zachary Teel, and Austin Chiarella. He was preceded in death by his father, John J. Mulder, and mother, Lucy Sasser Mulder. Pallbearers will be Clark Dorsey, Waldo Reese, Mike Smith, Ray Haner, Phil Jankey, and Perry Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Encouragers Sunday school class. Watson attended schools in Elmore County, received a degree from Troy State with credentials for teaching school. He served in the United States Army, with duty in Korea. Following Army service, he entered Civil Service at Red Stone Arsenal, from which he retired. Upon retirement, he returned to the home place in Redland. In his community, he was very active at Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church, having devoted his ministry to outreach. He was a volunteer of the Redland Fire Department, a charter member of the Redland Community Association, and a member of Treasure Forest. He served a civic duty to the community as a poll worker. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3454 Firetower Road, Wetumpka, AL 36093, or to Gideons International, 171 River Birch Circle, Wetumpka, AL 36093. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Ellison Funeral Home.
