HOULE, Mrs. Anita Alice, age 97, a resident of Wetumpka died on Sunday, June 30, 2007, at home surrounded by her close family. She was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on December 7, 1909, daughter of Edmond J. and Alice E. Cote. Anita spent most of her life in Woonsocket with her husband, Leonard E. Houle, who passed away in 1987. She attended private Catholic schools there, graduated with honors from St. Clare High School, went on to become certified as a beautician and then worked at home as a hairdresser for over 30 years. Anita and Leonard moved to Cumberland, Rhode Island, in 1967 and retired there in 1974. Anita moved to Wetumpka, Alabama, in 1999 to join her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who all live in the Montgomery area. Anita was preceded in death by two brothers, Raphael and Ralph. She is survived by her sister, Germaine Baglini of Woonsocket, RI; by her two daughters, Lorraine Houle and Jeanne Dogan, both of Wetumpka, AL; by her grandchildren Jeffrey Dogan from Wetumpka, Pamela Purvis of Titus, and Lorrie Dogan of Montgomery; by her great grandchildren Marissa and Mitchell Dogan and Kaelie Peterson; and by her niece Susan Maloney and nephews Norman and Robert Baglini, and Paul Cote. We remember Anita as a beloved mother and grandmother and as a very dedicated member of the Catholic Church. Visiting hours will be held at Ellison Funeral Home in Wetumpka from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM Tuesday evening. Visitors are welcome to a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM, following visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 495 White Road, Wetumpka with Father Albert Kelly officiating and Ellison Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.
